KITSON Architecture has a core team of three chartered architects supported by a dedicated network of other professionals including architectural technicians, consultants and interior designers.

Mark Kitson

BA Dip Arch M Arch RIBA

Mark is a chartered Architect with 20+ years experience working throughout the UK.

He has undertaken the role of lead consultant on a variety of highly successful projects in the Hotel & Leisure, Refurbishment, Data Centre, Masterplanning, Retail and Sports Sectors.

On recent projects Mark has worked with Cable & Wireless Worldwide/Vodafone, QHotels, Freshwater, ALDI, Macdonald Hotels and Centrica on projects across the country.

When not slaving over a hot drawing board Mark enjoys the good things in life – Cinema both new and classic, baking (it’s in the genes), a decent beer and spending time with his family – not necessarily all at the same time. He has recently started to relive his childhood with the new Lego Architecture range – that’s where it all started.

Ellen Kitson

BA(Hons) PG Dip Arch RIBA

Ellen is a chartered architect with over 20 year’s industry experience. Originally specialising in retail she has worked extensively across the sectors including commercial, hotel and leisure, healthcare, industrial, data centre and residential design. She prides herself on her highly professional and organised approach to all aspects of her work and her personable and practical attitude has cultivated an ability to gel with all members of the design team and build lasting relationships with consultants and clients. She loves nothing more than the challenge of seeing a project start on site which is when she feels the fun really starts!

Getting out of the office to network and socialize are high on Ellen’s agenda and she is actively involved with 20/20 networking which raises money for a local children’s charity whilst building business links in a supportive environment. With funding from the Executive Development Programme Ellen has recently dabbled in Public Speaking and has spoken at both networking events and to the sixth form at her former secondary school in Sheffield. Through her involvement with the charity BW3 Ellen has contributed to careers events at primary schools in Wythenshawe and supported the work of a local MP by providing advice on school design.

In her spare time Ellen enjoys spending time with her daughter, visiting (the tearoom) at National Trust properties, travel, literature, food and naturally a passion for retail ‘research’.

Daniel Peacock

Project Architect

Daniel is a chartered architect with over four years’ experience post-Part II working in commercial practice across a range of sectors. He blends a passion for good, simple, design with an awareness of client budget and sustainable construction.

He studied architecture at Liverpool John Moores University, a course with a strong focus on a sustainable, conscientious approach to architecture and urban design. Professional experience was undertaken at the Ratcliff Partnership in Manchester, and for KITSON Architecture since 2013.

In his spare time he likes to read, particularly fantasy novels, and to paint and draw. Interests span across science, design and technology, areas which often overlap. When out he enjoys cinema, cocktails and good food.

Jonathan Alves

Part 1 Architectural Assistant

BA (Hons) Arch

Jonathan has joined the practice as an architectural assistant after graduating from The University of Huddersfield.

While at university his design work was influenced by various international trips resulting in a varied portfolio including a community project in Vietnam and design work influenced by a research trip to Amsterdam. Gleaning inspiration from travel Jonathan was able to incorporate unique details, discovered on various trips to Architectural hot-spots, into his work.

Driven by an innate understanding of logic and space coupled with an intuitive understanding of people and places Jonathan has developed as a strategic thinker with an ability to challenge the conventional and design with a clear rationale.

During his initial months with KITSON Architecture Ltd Jonathan has gained experience working in the retail, leisure, commercial and residential sectors in addition to undertaking measured surveys and attending meetings. Jonathan will return to University in September 2019 to study for his postgraduate diploma in Architecture.

Outside the office, Jonathan enjoys keeping active; playing football on a weekly basis and snowboarding during the winter season.
